Thank you for your time...
20 articles in one day - wow. I already thought that it must be a scam when a poker affiliate said that he writes 5 articles per day. I think that there is some room for improvement for myself ;-)

That's another issue is the spam comments. You have to spend time moderating. Plus you never know - some people could be posting comments that are duplicate content, and thus not really helping you at all :) Basically comments for the most part can be a waste of time - you really need a solid reason as to why you should have comments.

And what you should do is set a day every month(or bi-weekly or weekly) where you sit down and write an article for that site. Or if you're more the type that writes by motivation, sit down one day inspired and write 20 or so articles then schedule them to go up periodically.

Well another problem for with comments is, that I usually only get spam-comments. I have a poker strategy site where I enabled comments two months ago. I got a few thousand visitors but not a single real comment.
On the other hand, comments are more or less a "free" way to add content to a site, that's why I have the comments enabled (and still hope to get some ;-)

Thank you for your analysis and giving that example. It seems to me that if I do not add new pages to my sites, the traffic is slowly fading: it seems to me that G! is giving a bonus to new content for competitive search terms.

Yeah I don't usually bother with comments on my sites for a variety of reasons. As an example - the Wordpress Plugins article on Poker Affiliate Bible I just wrote - I'd prefer people read it then say "okay, now I'm going to go and try out those plugins" or "great article, going to share it with friends". I find comments can derail the effectiveness somewhat - as it turns into "think I'll read the comments then check out these plugins...okay lot of comments here...ah interesting discussion, oh I've just spent 10 minutes reading all this, what was I going to do again? I forget. -closes browser-" :)

Maybe I'll do a Q&A section on Poker Affiliate Bible though where people can leave comments and I'll answer them all on one specific page.

Your question is very broad, so I'll give a very broad answer :) Three things can generally happen:

#1: Your site is done well, and not much happens. No competing sites take over that area, so you generally stay in the same place, and get the same amount of hits each day.

#2: Someone targets the same topic you are targetting, and do it better. They come in and take over and dominate the SERPS. Others do the same thing, and suddenly your website is on page 6 of google.

#3: A bit of both above, but your site slowly drops and you rely on untargetted/long tail keywords for the rest of your hits.

For example I've got a very specific niche site - about 12 pages of content - but no-one else really targets the phrase. So for the last year I've got about 5-20 unique visitors a day to that page. I haven't touched that website once in a year. However if someone else decided to compete, they could take over with ease and dominate in that regard.

It's nice to see a page within your site where it's possible to leave a comment ;-)

I am pretty new to affiliate marketing, but I have started two other affiliate sites outside poker in order to transfer what I have learned to other industries and in order to check out whether these industries are easier or harder than poker affliating.

I have a question to you which you maybe can answer: what happens over time with the number of visitors you get if you have a developed site of maybe 50 pages and suddenly stop working on it?

No worries man - your site was an excellent example due to all the work and planning that went into it, as well as creating the brand.

Hey Dan!

Thanks for mentioning us in the article man, just found this in a Google search.

Very cool! And yes, we're interested in creating & growing a brand, not just keyword stuffing.

Comment on Warning: Avoid Buying Domains at EuroDNS by Dealer Dan

I have already spoken to Customer Care and did not get anywhere, therefore decided to go public and warn other potential customers of this issue. It is fair to state that:

If you buy a domain from EuroDNS which is said to be available and is not then available, you will not get your full refund credited back to you in cash(just in EuroDNS account).

I wanted to warn people of this - that if they choose to buy a domain from EuroDNS, there is the possibility that they will not get that domain, and will be forced to either buy another domain, or say "goodbye" to a portion of their money.

Whose fault was it that I didn't get the domain? Mine? Nope. That was yours. Yet I'm the one that has to pay for it.

I should also note that if you search for "EuroDNS" in search engines you will find many more stories of people in the same situation I was. Here is just one example. If this was an isolated case I would have let it go, but when it becomes a common occurence I feel it is fair that the web master and potential customers of EuroDNS know that there is a possibility they will not get the domain they paid for, and worse then lose money because of it.

Dear Dealer Dan or euroDNS customer,

We, at Customer Care, take those entries in fori seriously and try to respond
to them as much & quick as possible. Please understand that there are simply too
many fori existing, hence in order to resolve a problem more quickly, we invite
our customer to "complain" directly at our dedicated Help Center (I provided the
link above) and/or write a mail to our Account Managers / Sales (mail address
also provided above). This assures that your personal concern will be taken
care of, which cannot be guaranteed via a forum.

In addition, we also do not support & appreciate such a defamatory warning
about EuroDNS in such a case. Even if we accept your personal concerns, we
don’t think this is necessarily shared by all our other customers, who
normally recognize of our good customer service. In your specific case

• we did not ask for paperwork (the Registry did),
• we are not responsible if the name was already taken (Internet is all about
 first come, first served) and
• you are free to use the credit to get another name, too

I also like to state that EuroDNS is bound to its “terms and conditions”, which
You, as a customer, confirm at each steps of the purchase order. In these terms
and conditions, we also state that each refund EuroDNS makes is subject
to wire fees that are not ours but those of the banks we have to use for
the wire transfer.

In summary, I am happy if you contact us as stated above and I will personally
will make sure that you get an appropriate answer for your specific case.
